El Capitán

Updated: Apr 14

In the heart of Lima, Peru, you’ll likely find people sipping a stiff cocktail in coupe glasses, garnished with two olives—that drink is El Capitán.

It’s essentially a Manhattan, but instead of whiskey, you’re using pisco, a grape-based spirit popular in Peru and Chile, and swapping the cherry for green olives. So, not really a Manhattan after all—it’s an El Capitán.
