Spanish Fizz

Updated: Jul 7

The Spanish Fizz: the cocktail that’s fancy enough to impress and easy enough to make blindfolded. Two ingredients. No prep. Endless possibilities.

Born in the wood-paneled wonderland of Bar Raval in Toronto (allegedly), it’s as simple as it gets: cava and Spanish vermut, mixed in whatever ratio you fancy. Garnish with an olive, a citrus peel, or whatever you’ve got lying around—this drink refuses to be fussy.

Ingredients:

  • 3.5oz cava (or whatever sparkling wine)

  • 2oz Spanish vermut

  • 1 orange twist, for garnish

Directions:

  1. Add cava to a glass full of ice (typically wine glass or coupe glass)

  2. Float the vermut on top and gently stir

  3. Garnish with orange twist and an olive (optional)

Can totally eyeball this drink. We recommend roughly 60% cava, 40% vermut.
